Group Runs
Big River Running Company is committed to being a true running and walking community. Part of our mission is to be more than just a running store. We want to be a place where runners and walkers come to socialize, to train, and to learn more about the sport. Our group runs, walks, and speed workouts are a chance for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to do just that. We offer a Monday Evening Run/Walk all year long at both the South City and O'Fallon locations as well as speed sessions on the track during the summer. We also offer as part of our Big River Training Team, Super Sunday Long Runs during the fall in preparation for the GO! St. Louis 10K/5K, the MO' Cowbell Half Marathon and the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon Weekend and again in the spring in preparation for the GO! St. Louis Marathon/Half Marathon in April. For High School Runners we have a Monday Morning Group Run all summer long. All of our group runs are free, but we do have individualized training options for a fee through our personal coaching program. Monday Night Group Run/Walk: SOUTH CITY STORE- We meet at our South City Store for a group run at 6:00pm. This run goes all year long and is for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Dogs and strollers welcome. We will go from the store to Francis Park, around it and back for the short loop (3 miles). Two loops and back is 4.3 miles. The long loop features Francis Park, Wilmore Park and Christy Park before returning to the store (7 miles). See you there!!! Monday Night Group Run/Walk: O'FALLON STORE - We meet at our O'Fallon Store for a group run at 6:00pm. This run is for all ages and abilities. Dogs and strollers welcome. We offer a short loop (4 miles) and a long loop (6.4 miles). Check out the short course map HERE and the long course map HERE. Pub Run Series - Join Big River Running Company for the ultimate of social runs on the third Wednesday of each month (April through September) at 6 p.m. at various Llywelyn’s locations throughout the St. Louis area. Runners, walkers and beer lovers will enjoy a 3-4 mile route each month and 15% off their Llwelyn’s tab post-run. (Part of our Fall Big River Training Team) - Beginning July 29th, 2012 and running through October 21st we invite everyone to join us for our Super Sunday Long Runs at 7am as you prepare for the GO! St. Louis Halloween 10K/5K, MO' Cowbell Half Marathon, Rock 'N' Roll Marathon Weekend or the fall marathon/half marathon of your choice. The distance each week will be up to the individual (we'll have a recommended plan in place for yoru goal event), but loops from 4-20 miles will be offered. (Part of our Spring Big River Training Team) - Beginning January 13th, 2013 and running through April 7th we invite everyone to join us for our Super Sunday Long Runs at 7am as you prepare for the GO! St. Louis Marathon or the spring marathon/half /10K/5K of your choice. The distance each week will be up to the individual (we'll have a recommended plan in place for yoru goal event), but loops from 4-20 miles will be offered. Monday Morning High School/Collegiate Run (June-August 2013)** - For the seventh year in a row Big River will be hosting a Monday Morning High School/Collegiate group run. As usual everyone is welcome, bring yourself or your whole team and find training partners to help you have a solid summer of training. This is where a successful cross country season begins! The run will start at the store and go to Queeny Park for loops of varying distances. The runs will begin June 3rd and will start at 8:00am!
