Have you seen lately how many people are running and want to join the movement? Has a friend or co-worker challenged you to a race and you wonder where to get started? Here at Big River we have the solution to get you out the door and hitting the pavement!

Big River Running Company would like to invite you to its BEGINNERS ONLY educational offering – Ready to START: Take Your First Step. These clinics are designed as the need-to-know guide of running for aspiring runners. We are here to provide the basics you need to get you out the door motivated, injury free and on your way to accomplishing your fitness goals.

Each clinic includes

Q&A session with our experienced and fun staff!
A relaxed, non-intimidating environment
Topics to be included are:
- Health benefits of running
- What do you need to feel comfortable on a run in footwear, apparel and fuel
- The anatomy of a run and how to prevent injuries
- Goal setting, training plans, tips for success

The cost of this clinic is $10. A portion of the proceeds benefit a local charity.

You’ll Love Our Fit Center – Learn all about your foundation in our in-depth fit process. Your dedicated Fit Specialist will answer your questions and meet your needs by measuring the foot length, width and arch, conducting a treadmill analysis of alignment and gait, use of state-of-the art technology to generate a digital foot scan uncovering pressure points and pronation, and provide the proper selection on multiple styles and brands of shoes to find the perfect fit for you. Our Fit Center also provides medical fitting for customers experiencing common foot conditions, health problems, or injuries. Whether it’s your 1st or 100th visit, you’ll discover, learn, or enjoy something new every time.

Wednesday Workouts

FREE this season!

While many people training for a half or full marathon focus on long runs and the endurance aspect of training, speed and pace work play a very important role and should not be overlooked! This Training Team season we are offering the option to participate in a structured weekly speed workout with the guidance of a coach. The workouts are designed specifically to improve performance for runners training for the half and full marathon distance. It’s much more fun to do speedwork with a group!

Wednesday Workouts will go from January 15 – March 18.
We will meet at Francis Park in South City. Warm up will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the workout starting at 6:45 p.m.
FREE for anyone who signs up for Training Team!

Schedule

We meet for group runs/walks every Sunday at 7:00 am beginning July 9 and going into the end of September to help you prepare for the your fall full or half marathon. Our goal race is The Great GO! Halloween Half. You can still train with the team even if this is not your goal race.

*If you are a first-time/beginner marathoner and would like advice on how to properly build up to 6-8 miles so you can begin running with Training Team, email info@bigriverrunning.com. We’re here to help!
