Big River Nation is made up of incredible individuals many of whom are dedicated to living a healthy and active lifestyle. This month, meet Jen K., one of our amazing volunteer pace coaches for Training Team, Big River’s free half and full marathon training program. Jen (on right of image above ) leads the 12:30 per mile run/walk pace group. It’s one of the biggest groups in the program! The run/walkers in Jen’s group are motivated each week by her presence on social media and leadership during Sunday long runs. She’s an inspiration.
Hear a little bit about Jen’s journey in her own words:
“Six years ago, I decided to start running. I had seen info about the Big River Training Team and I signed up for the half marathon training group. My goal race was the MO’ Cowbell 5k. Ha! I was lucky enough to meet friendly people and I found a running buddy (Hi, Elena!) who never quit believing in me. Since then, I have run in 115 races, including 26 half marathons. This season I am training for 4 fall half marathons including MO’ Cowbell and Go! Halloween.
Big River and Training Team have changed my life for the better. So thankful for my BRTT friends and this amazing group of runners. 12:30 Run/Walk rocks!”
