Meet the Staff: Steph

StephtrailSteph joined Big River in 2011 after participating in the Summer Speedwork sessions and began running with Big River’s Training Team to prepare for her first half marathon (The MO Cowbell). She had always been a runner but put the sport on the back burner to compete in equestrian events while in high school and college, running to supplement her fitness. She has now returned to running more seriously after joining the staff at Big River full time and has had the pleasure to work in all four of Big River’s locations at some point. She now calls Big River West County home and works primarily in Marketing and with Training Team. An avid trail runner, Steph has run in all three distances of  The Skippo Trail Race (10, 20 and 30k) and has completed the Castlewood Cup three times as well. She enjoys running trails for the majority of her training miles and one of her ultimate goals is to complete a trail marathon (in addition to running a marathon in Canada and qualifying for Boston). Steph spends volunteer time cleaning up the trails at Castlewood and marking the courses for the various trail runs that Big River puts on throughout the year.
