In Lexie’s words: “I grew up in a military family, so I am from all over really. Fun fact, I was actually born in Germany and have a funky looking birth certificate from the U.S. Consulate to prove it. However, my family is from northwest Montana and that has long served as a home base of sorts. Before moving to St. Louis in 2020, I lived in Chicago for six years and will always have a soft spot for the Windy City. Since moving here, my husband and I have bought a fixer upper in Overland, wish us luck! Before that we were living in Tower Grove South and Tower Grove Park became my favorite go to running spot right out my front door. I’m still hoping I can get our very lazy Great Pyrenese/Poodle mix named Macha to run with me, but I think that is a lost cause. While I’m more of a casual runner these days, some of my proudest moments came while running cross country and track for Columbia University in NYC. With collegiate running long behind me, I like to split my time between running, rock climbing, swimming, painting and spending time with family and friends when I’m not studying to become a high school history teacher.”
Favorite training shoe: I’ve been pretty loyal to the New Balance 880 as my go to training shoe
Favorite racing shoe: I have my eye on the HOKA Carbon X2 for my next half marathon
Favorite piece of apparel: Brooks Chaser shorts
A good run for me always features: music and a few Honey Stinger Waffles
I enjoy working at Big River because: it has reconnected me to that running community I loved in high school and college and has helped me feel more at home in a new city. I also love that it is a locally owned store serving the community.
